Whenever I saw the timer running, I would panic and read the same line again and again. I started taking complete mock tests on IELTSMockup.com instead of practising only easy questions. My first few attempts were stressful, but slowly I learned to stay calm and move on when a question took too long. On test day, I was still nervous, but I knew how to handle it.

The Mock Tests Felt Close to My Real Exam
What I liked most about IELTS Mockup was the difficulty level. The tests were not so easy that they gave me false confidence, and they were not made difficult just for the sake of it. When I appeared in the real IELTS, the Reading and Listening sections felt familiar in terms of level and time pressure. I scored an overall Band 7.5, and the practice I did here really helped me achieve it.
I practiced from this website and it helped me score my desired IELTS bands. I recommend!
Before using IELTS Mockup, I would check my score and move on without thinking much about the wrong answers. Then I started keeping a small notebook beside me during practice. After every test, I wrote down the mistakes I kept repeating. I realised that I was losing marks simply because I read some instructions too quickly. Fixing this habit made my scores much more consistent.
I Got Comfortable With the Computer Test
Most of my practice before this was from books and PDFs. The first time I attempted a complete test on my laptop, I was slower than I expected. Even scrolling through a passage and keeping track of my answers took some time. I kept practising on IELTS Mockup until the screen format started feeling normal. In the real test, I could focus on the questions instead of worrying about how the system worked.
I honestly thought my preparation was going well until I attempted my first full test here. The score was lower than I expected, especially in Reading. It was disappointing, but at least I knew where I actually stood. I continued practising and checked my result after every test. Seeing my score improve slowly gave me confidence that my hard work was finally paying off.
A few of us at university were preparing for IELTS, so we made a small routine. Every weekend, we attempted a test on IELTS Mockup and later compared our scores when we met. My score was not always the best, but that made me practise more instead of giving up. Preparing with my friends made the whole process easier and less boring.
I’m really happy with my experience using this IELTS mockup website. The practice tests were very realistic and helped me become more familiar with the actual exam format. The detailed feedback also helped me identify my weaknesses and improve my performance. After practicing regularly, I achieved an overall band score of 7.5 in my IELTS exam. I would definitely recommend this website to anyone preparing for IELTS!
Speaking English at Work Was Not Enough
I deal with customers every day in my sales job, so I honestly thought the Listening test would be easy. My first mock test proved me wrong. I could understand the conversation, but I still missed spellings and other small details. After doing more tests here, I started checking why each answer was wrong. It taught me to listen carefully instead of only following the general conversation. That made a clear difference in my preparation.
I Learned to Stop Overthinking the Answers
Since I am doing an MPhil, I thought the Reading test would be easy for me. But I had a habit of reading too much into the questions and choosing answers based on what made sense to me, not only on what the passage said. After attempting a few tests on IELTS Mockup, I could clearly see where I was going wrong. I learned to stick to the evidence in the passage. For me, that was probably the most useful change in my preparation.
Spot-on difficulty level
The practice tests aren't suspiciously easy or unfairly hard. They are a mirror image of the actual IELTS difficulty. My mock scores here were within a 0.5-band difference of my official result!
